August is here, and it's time to welcome Virgo season! In Kabbalah, this month of Elul is associated with the cosmic process of repentance (Teshuvah). This is where we take stock of our actions throughout the year, reflect on their root cause, make amends when necessary, and try to avoid repeating the same mistakes in the future.

Virgo, as an earth sign, is associated with practical matters such as jobs, tasks, and responsibilities. Therefore, this season is a great opportunity to look at how we can better manage our lives - from completing chores on time to taking care of our mental health needs - so that we can ultimately be more efficient and productive. By doing this, we can take advantage of all the positive energies Virgo has to offer, while also making amends with ourselves! So, embrace Virgo season and use it as an opportunity to reflect, repair, and nurture yourself. You deserve it!

Make sure you go over anything contractual thoroughly. Make sure all the i’s are dotted and all the t's are crossed. Then, if you can get away with it, wait until after the retrograde to sign on the dotted line.
Avoid starting anything new. New projects tend to have communication problems and mishaps when initiated during this process.
Put a watch on your tongue. (If it is not worth saying, don't say it)
Check your vehicles for any potential problems. Before Mercury goes retrograde, is the best time for a service call.
Avoid buying real estate or renting apartments. Usually, this means you will move again during a future Mercury Rx.
Using mail delivery services that offer tracking and insurance – especially now, since the Post Office has still not recovered from the pandemic.
Check, recheck, and check again any travel plans you have or appointments on the books.
If you do travel, don't take anything of importance or value. Only bring items that you do not care if they are lost or stolen.
Expect people from the past to resurface. However, once they crawl out of whatever cavern they came from, proceed with caution.

The first week of August begins with a cluster of energy (including the Full Moon) on Tuesday, as Mars trines Jupiter and Mercury opposes Saturn. These two planetary aspects are conflicting in nature. Mars trine Jupiter is a high-energy aspect that urges us to go after our desires, so it’s time to put yourself first and go after your goals. However, Mercury opposes Saturn is a serious aspect that often evokes negative mindsets. On a more positive note, Mercury opposes Saturn and usually sees problems quickly. This can be valuable as you pursue your goals. The key is to work with both aspects simultaneously, but not table your goals. Just go after them thoughtfully.

The middle of the week brings the Moon moving through gentle Pisces. It’s an excellent time to work on creative projects, especially later in the evening when the Moon sextiles Jupiter. Since the Moon is also conjoined Saturn, try to avoid falling into negative mindsets and push away destructive thoughts.

The energies turn around this weekend as the Moon moves into energetic Aries and forms a lovely trine to the Sun. It’s an excellent day to do things that are enjoyable. On Sunday, the Sun squares Jupiter. The Sun square Jupiter is a positive aspect that helps you succeed if you couple it with a dash of discipline. Your mind will be on your money, and your money will be on your mind as we start the week with the Moon moving through money-oriented Taurus. Since the Moon sextiles Saturn on Monday, it’s a good day to work on your end-of-the-year budget. On Tuesday, the Moon trines Mars and conjoins Uranus. Although the Moon is in steady Taurus, energy levels should still be high, but prepare for the unexpected with Uranus in the mix.

This Wednesday will be a wild one, with Venus squaring Uranus and Mercury trining Jupiter. If you're having relationship issues, the Venus square Uranus could hit home. However, it's important to remember that flexibility is key here - don't be too rigid in your relationships.

On top of this, Mercury trines Jupiter later in the day, which makes it an excellent time for business deals. If things have seemed stale recently, it might be time to break the monotony and seek out new experiences that can bring you joy. Make a move so that you can keep your life moving forward.

Midweek, Mars and Uranus come together in a trine aspect. This is more subdued than other Mars-Uranus connections but still brings an energy of liberation and excitement. August 21, 2023 – August 27, 2023

This week is quite eventful astrologically speaking, starting with a Venus-Jupiter square on Tuesday. Yes, normally squares can be frustrating and tough to manage - but this one is great for sorting out relationship issues or making financial investments (just don't do it impulsively). Unfortunately, though, the day isn't over yet: later on Tuesday, Mars will oppose Neptune in Pisces. This means it's best to be extra careful and aware of sketchy people or situations. Furthermore, everyday life may leave you feeling a bit down, so don’t forget to fight past your self-doubts and insecurities if they surface.

Virgo season starts on Wednesday, and immediately Mercury, the ruler of Virgo, turns retrograde. Yikes! Since Mercury is in his sign, he is powerful, and that means this retrograde season might be a bit EXTRA! Expect communication problems, technological snafus, and travel plans to go awry. However, Mercury Rx has a purpose – it allows us to reflect on the past few months, and course correct if necessary. Mercury Rx also boosts Mars trine Pluto on Thursday. Mars trine Pluto is about reforming areas of your life that are no longer working, and having the courage to create change. Mercury Rx will help you see these areas more easily.

Get out your party hat on Friday, as the Moon moves through fun-filled Sagittarius. It’s a great night to let your hair down and get your groove on. The energies shift dramatically on Saturday as the Moon moves out of Sagittarius and into responsible Capricorn. The Moon in Capricorn is about managing our duties and obligations. Use this energy to tackle tasks that need completion and tie up loose ends. However, Sunday is a rather somber day, as the Sun opposes restrictive Saturn in Pisces. Although you may feel held back by forces beyond your control, press past these negative and limiting thoughts and continue to move forward one step at a time.

August 28, 2023 – September 3, 2023

As busy as last week was, this week is an absolute snooze fest. We have no planetary aspects, no sign changes, and despite the second Full Moon of the month occurring on Wednesday, the only major event happens at the end of the week when Venus turns direct in Leo.

Okay, let’s address the elephant in the room – Uranus does turn retrograde on Monday. I don’t focus on outer planet retrograde cycles (unless they station on a planet or angle in your chart), because they last a long time, and can spend 4-5 months ‘retched out’. However, Uranus retrograde is a cycle of reevaluating the changes happening in your life and revisiting old business. Since this retrograde occurs in Taurus, you may need to look at your current values and whether they need to change. We all grow! Things that were once important to us we may have outgrown, and replaced them with new ideologies. So, simply put, Uranus Rx is still about change, but change that happens on the inside.

Midweek, the Moon moves through Pisces. On Wednesday, she conjoins Saturn, which can be a bit of a downer. Although you may experience minor frustrations, try to push past obstacles to the best of your ability. The Moon then forms a lovely sextile to Jupiter on Thursday, and your optimism should return. But, avoid getting tangled in contentious discussions when the Moon opposes Mercury on Thursday afternoon.

Expect a high-energy weekend when the Moon moves out of Pisces and into fiery Aries. Minor disputes may be annoying on Friday, as the Moon opposes Mars in Libra, but matters should quickly resolve over the weekend as the Moon trines Venus. The Moon moves into Taurus on Sunday, so take some time to relax and enjoy something decadent. The cherry on top happens later in the evening when Venus turns direct in Leo, which is perfect for those celebrating Labor Day.
