A New Perspective

I just erased everything I was going to write about this month because I had a very inspiring conversation with Dorothy Morrison. I always have inspiring conversations with Dorothy which is why we decided to co-design her products last year! Dorothy always gives me a new perspective on magic, life and attitude (and aren’t those my favorite three subjects!) Dorothy said something that made me sit up and take notice….

. “2011 is a year for a new perspective and making life easier.”

Well, Amen sister, I accept that prediction and I will raise it with my intention. Of course 2011 is about a new perspective because our old perspective is a bit bleak. I am all about making life easier and more fulfilling this year and for me that involves my business. Business has gotten very complicated these past few years, having to work three times as hard for the same return; where just staying in business is good enough and breaking even is a miracle! ENOUGH – I am now changing my perspective and making my life easier.

I don’t know how I am going to do it yet, but I have some great ideas. Actually, I have about 100 great new ideas – all from a new perspective – and now I have to decide what comes first. January is always about making a plan for the upcoming year; setting goals, outlining ideas, targeting my marketing, and taking stock in what did and didn’t work last year. This January as I create this plan, I set my intention that I am coming at this in a new and unexpected way and that all my choices will make my life easier.

With 100’s of new ideas in front of me, that gives me good guidelines to prioritizing and eliminating some ideas. When you are building you plan for the year, you have to have some guidelines of you can get swept away in plans and ideas that are not on target.

Do this exercise for yourself as the year turns to 2011 - Stand in the center of your store and close your eyes. What does your store look like today? Visualize all the things about it, the inventory, the displays, the organization or chaos of the back room, the bills in the paid or to be paid files, the paperwork, the marketing. Breathe easy while you are looking at it in your minds eye – it’s just a picture.

Now start to change that picture. Visualize what you want your store to look like in the near future – the perfect picture of your fantasy. The inventory and stock level, the displays, the backroom, the state of your finances, the amount of customers in your store. The joy you have running it. This is where you want to be and the type of store you want to run!

Now quick – write it down! Tell at least three people about what you want it to be like in the near future. This is your new perspective. You are now looking at your store with new eyes and you will be able to see a way to get there under your own steam. Commit yourself to crafting a magical business that is a cash cow! Start each day with the intention that you will find and implement new ways of growing your profits every day. Light a candle to transmit that intention out to the universe – empower it with oils and incense every morning to remind you of this sense of making life easier. I dare you to do this and see what happens to your perspective and your profit.

If you are wondering what candle to burn, try the Blessed Herbal Prosperity, the Blessed Herbal Money Draw, the World Magic Green Man, the World Magic Temple, the Wicked Witch Mojo Everything and then Some, the Tarot Magic Sun candle, the Tarot Magic Emperor candle, the Drawing Down the Moon Blue Moon Candle, the Motor City Hoo Doo Crown of Glory candle, the Witches Brew Dragon’s Blood or Witches Brew candle. Add any of the oils and a bit of incense and you are now making a new magic that will change your world in a positive way.
