During this Full Moon, we are juggling two major influences. The Full Moon in Gemini and Mercury square Neptune. We will need a little extra candle magic to get through the potential shenanigans.
Our friend Scorpio is back and has filled this New Moon with its powerful vibrations of transformation and rebirth. It’s an open invitation to take a journey to explore your inner landscapes and deal with what you find there. When the moon is new, it’s dark because it’s not reflecting any light. This is exactly when Scorpio does its best work.
New Moon in Libra on October 14, 2023
Storm Cestavani recommends we only do protection and clearing work during a Solar Eclipse and while the New Moon is in Libra. We’ve given you a sweet little protection candle ritual to keep you grounded and out of harm's way during the solar eclipse.
Candle Ritual to Protect Your Home
For this candle ritual, you will need:
- Fiery Wall of Protection Hoo Doo candle or aBlessed Herbal Protection candle
- 4 protection crystals (ex. Hematite, Obsidian Snowflake, or black Tourmaline, and a clear quartz crystal) You will be making a crystal grid with them.
- A white piece of 8.5” x 11” paper
- Red pen or pencil
Set the grid up away from pets and little hands, if you have any in your home.
Cleanse your crystals before making your grid. On the paper draw a red circle about 5” to 6” in diameter. Write your address and the names of people who live there in the middle of the circle. Like a compass, place your protection crystals at the north, east, south, and west positions. In the center, over the address and names, place the unwrapped candle in a candle holder. Hold the clear quartz in your left hand and cover it with your right hand. Invite the crystal to accept your vibration and become attuned to you. Say your address and the names three times. Then place the clear quartz next to the candle holder.
Now, light the candle and read the blessing on the label or say one of your own. Your intention is to hold your home in a protective cocoon by the crystal grid, for the next three days or until the candle is finished. Each time you light the candle repeat your affirmation or prayer of protection. If you have to leave your home for any reason, light the candle for a few minutes while you are getting ready, then extinguish it before you leave. You can light it again when you get home. Put a reminder on your phone or a note on your door to extinguish the candle before you leave the house. Never ever leave a burning candle unattended. Enjoy your sanctuary. Take note of how you’ve felt protected and give gratitude for it at the end of the day.

Full Moon in Taurus on October 28, 2023
“Keep calm and carry on” is our mantra for this Full Moon. Not because it’s in Taurus, but because of its lunar eclipse and the bonus features of being conjunct with Jupiter and Uranus. All this disruptive energy is really stressing everyone out.
During this Full Moon, we have some exciting energies at play. Aries is a predominant figure and true to this sign, the energy is outgoing and forceful. Great for getting things started, but not so good when cooperation and seeing another’s point of view is what’s needed. Storm Cestavani also alerts us that Venus and Uranus will be in a square off. Combined with Aries energy, there could be trouble in paradise including a battle of the wills.
