Whew! Half the year is gone! The first six months of the year has brought successes, challenges, and changes. Now it’s summer (in the Northern Hemisphere). The barbeque grill has been used for awhile now, at least it has in my house! So what do you want the rest of the year to bring you? Are you feeling stuck? “April showers bring May flowers” they say. It’s normally muddy, grey, rainy, and the temperature is not consistent. This April weather can be tricky, especially if you live in the Midwest like I do. In some areas the month of April is a betwixt and between month; it’s not really cold, but it’s not really warm either. This instability can be draining which tends to have me feeling as if I cannot move. When you don’t want to move, it’s time to call up your queen.
What does “call up you queen” mean? It means digging in deep to your core. The center most part of you that only comes up when you need to face being an adult--especially when you don't want to. Now, this is not “fight or flight”, that’s a different conversation. This is the self-motivating part of you that you call on when you need to put one foot in front of the other...even when you don’t feel like it. We ALL have a queen to call up.

You ever look around at your life and say, “What the hell happened?” I know I have! Sometimes we are so busy with life that we don’t stop and take a moment to really see where we are or what we are doing. Even the way we think can bring on issues or roadblocks that we weren’t looking for or needing. Thoughts have power! I like to say, “Be careful how you think because the Universe is listening.”

The holidays are over, out of town visitors have returned home, and you are sitting in your home--energetically spent! The holidays can be so much fun, but they are filled with expectations, playing nice when you really just want to tell Aunt Susan to “shut the hell up!”. So we stave the outbursts and serve more sweet potato pie. The days are short, the nights are long, it’s cold, the snow is now a dank grey: it is January!
The energy hangovers are probably worse than the traditional hangovers many feel on New Year’s Day. There are many home remedies to cure the traditional hangovers, but how does one remedy an emotional hangover? It starts with cleaning your space and your aura. I absolutely love my family, but damn they can drain a girl. After I put away all the decorations, I make myself a cup of Chai, put on my most comfy pajamas, some Al Jarreau music, and light the Blessed Herbal Spiritual Cleansing candle in a candle holder.
